What do you need for a typical cruise???

Embarking on a Royal Caribbean 7 day Caribbean Cruise out of Galveston, TX is an exciting adventure that requires careful preparation to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Here are some essential items to pack for your trip:

  1. Appropriate Clothing: You’ll need to pack comfortable clothing for activities like swimming, lounging, and exploring. Bring light clothing for warm weather and a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. Don’t forget to pack comfortable walking shoes for shore excursions.
  2. Sun Protection: The Caribbean sun can be intense, so it’s crucial to pack sun protection such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. You may also want to bring aloe vera or after-sun lotion for any sunburns.
  3. Travel Documents: Ensure you have your passport, ID, and other travel documents organized and ready to go before leaving for the cruise. It’s also a good idea to bring a copy of your itinerary and any travel insurance documents.
  4. Toiletries: Pack all necessary toiletries, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and any other personal hygiene products. Some items, like soap and shampoo, may be provided by the cruise line, but it’s always best to be prepared.
  5. Money and Credit Cards: It’s a good idea to bring some cash and credit cards for onboard expenses like shopping, drinks, and shore excursions. You may also want to bring a small amount of local currency for ports of call.
  6. Entertainment: Bring a book, e-reader, or other entertainment to enjoy during downtime on the cruise. You may also want to pack a camera to capture memories of your trip.
  7. Medical Supplies: It’s always a good idea to pack any necessary prescription medications, along with basic first-aid supplies like band-aids and pain relievers.
  8. Just some other miscellaneous items that you may need as well would be: Small Magnetic Hooks for drying bathing suits and other wet items, Luggage Tag Protectors with Steel Wire Cables, a “Cruise Approved” Plug Extension Bar, and some Sea Pass ID Card Holders with Lanyard.  All of these items can be bought on Amazon pretty cheaply and easily.  The hooks help with drying wet clothes as the walls of the Staterooms are metal, the Luggage Tag Protectors ensure that your Tags stay on your luggage and are readable at all times, the Plug Extension Bar is VERY important as it needs to be Cruise Approved.  You CANNOT bring any Surge Protector on board.  It will be confiscated.  You will be issued a Card with your picture on it called a Sea Pass.  The ID Card holder will keep it around your neck at all times as it’s connected to your Credit Card, so it serves as your source of funds on the Boat.  It also serves as your Room Key…VERY Important that it stays with you EVERYWHERE you go!

By packing these essential items, you’ll be well-prepared for an amazing 7-day Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean out of Galveston, TX.
